Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to gain and extend your clinical experience in Paediatric Cardiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. As a Trust Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology, you will work within one of the largest and busiest units in the country, offering exposure to all cardiac subspecialties, including heart failure and transplantation, pulmonary hypertension, and inherited cardiovascular diseases.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for the continued delivery of Cardiology Services at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. This includes ward rounds, review of postoperative patients, echocardiography, and paediatric outpatient clinics. Specific duties will be dependent on relevant skills and experience.

Key Requirements
  • Primary medical qualification - MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with Licence to Practice or IELTS Certificate with an overall score of or Occupational English Test (medicine version) with a minimum score of 'B' in each domain
  • MRCP or MRCPCH
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher degree - MSc, MPhil related discipline
  • Previous experience as a paediatric cardiology SHO or registrar
  • Clinical experience in paediatric cardiology, including echocardiography
  • Published research in peer reviewed journals
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work under pressure in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Ability to prioritise clinical needs
  • Evidence of ability to make clinical decisions and to manage clinical problems
