About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Environment Business team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial administration, reporting, and performance on large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms and conditions, prices, and programme.
  • Managing subcontract works packages, including interim assessments of the amount due and subsequent change management.
  • Producing and issuing all commercial notices to the client and subcontractors, as required by the form of contract.
  • Managing change in a timely manner, in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.
  • Liaising with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to the standard required.
  • Playing a pivotal role in weekly progress and risk reduction meetings, producing, submitting, and agreeing monthly applications to the client, and presenting detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliation's (CVR) and 'Cost Plans', tracking and forecasting expenditure and liabilities as required by the business unit or project.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment, and promoting a culture of health, safety, and well-being within the team.

About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor who has a strong background in commercial management, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree and/or experience of working in a commercial environment.
  • Experience of working on large-scale projects, with a strong understanding of construction processes.
  • Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally Incorporated member or working towards full membership.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
