Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Corus Consultancy. As a key member of our staff team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people placed in our designated children's home.

Responsibilities

* Provide care and support to children and young people in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements, as well as company policies and procedures
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at all times
* Work collaboratively with the home management team to ensure the smooth operation of the home
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people, and their families
* Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Requirements

* Adequate command of the spoken English language and good verbal communication skills
* Adequate English literacy (reading and writing) and communication skills
* Adequate numeracy skills
* Domestic skills (e.g. basic cooking)
* Physical ability to learn and use techniques for managing challenging behavior, using physical holding/restraint if necessary
* Adequate IT skills
* Ability to undertake sleeping-in duties
* Ability to work the shift pattern and unsocial hours
* Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively
