Role Overview:

We are seeking a committed and skilled Health & Safety Coordinator who is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices. This role is essential in ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards while fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

The Health & Safety Coordinator will collaborate with site managers to oversee all health, safety, and environmental matters related to operations. Responsibilities include the development and execution of HSE policies, conducting thorough risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation to maintain a safe and sustainable workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation, implementation, and upkeep of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with legal standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and audits to detect potential hazards and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant HSE legislation and organizational policies, maintaining comprehensive records of compliance.
  • Organize and deliver HSE training sessions for employees to enhance awareness and promote a safety-oriented culture.
  • Investigate all HSE incidents and near misses, determining root causes and suggesting preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response protocols, ensuring all personnel are trained on emergency procedures.
  • Implement and oversee environmental management initiatives aimed at reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on HSE performance, incidents, and compliance to senior management.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and address any HSE concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing HSE practices and processes, staying informed on the latest industry trends and regulations.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar HSE role, ideally within the logistics or warehouse sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in NEBOSH (preferred but not mandatory), IOSH, or other relevant HSE qualifications is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
