Job Summary

The Recruitment Co is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform weekly and monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled, including waste management, flushing of little used outlets, water temperature recording, and emergency lighting tests.
  • Respond to reactive repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Carry out minor building fabric repairs and modifications, including decorating tasks, basic plumbing, and basic carpentry.
  • Conduct general office cleaning and janitorial duties as required.
  • Support external landscaping and cleaning as needed.
  • Assist with ad hoc porterage duties, including moves and changes, furniture management, and stock management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
  • Comply fully with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Complete documentation as required, including RAMS and adhere to all associated permits.
  • Be flexible with work hours to provide cover for holidays and sickness absence.
  • Assist all trades within the team and complete tasks away from your core skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
  • Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.

Requirements

  • Experience in building maintenance, handyperson, and janitorial duties.
  • Ability to identify and select correct materials and tools for a job.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
  • Confident, driven, and proactive attitude.
  • Able to do the job right and do it right first time, within a predetermined timescale.
  • Willingness to undertake further training.
  • Ability to provide a schedule of works for identified additional or remedial works.
  • Writing and following risk and method statements as required daily.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
  • Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
  • Hold a full UK driver's license.

Working Conditions

This is a 39-hour week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 5pm. Salary is £28,000 per annum, on a permanent basis.
