About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Engineer to join our client's team in the North East. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing repair and maintenance services for Electric, LPG, and Diesel forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage workload and prioritize jobs according to customer demands and company targets.
  • Perform effective preventative maintenance to minimize unplanned breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems efficiently and effectively.
  • Complete and provide company documentation and records as required by the company management system.
  • Communicate with customers to agree on remedial actions when necessary.
  • Use a laptop and PDA to identify parts required and communicate requirements to the office team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A time-served tradesperson in the engineering sector with a minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications.
  • Skills in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • The ability to develop and maintain customer relationships to provide excellent customer care.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving license.
