Job Summary:

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our team for a temporary to permanent contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Site Manager in overseeing all aspects of the construction site, coordinating and managing subcontractors and trades, ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to, and monitoring and reporting on progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Site Manager in overseeing all aspects of the construction site
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and trades on site
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
  • Monitor and report on progress to the Site Manager
  • Assist in resolving any onsite issues or conflicts
  • Help maintain high-quality standards of workmanship

Requirements:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in new build housing, ideally with a PLC developer
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes and regulations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Working Conditions:

The role of Assistant Site Manager involves working on a construction site, which may include exposure to various weather conditions and physical demands. The candidate should be prepared to work full-time hours as required for the project.
