About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our culinary team at Platters Farm Lodge, a leading provider of care and support services in Kent. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met and providing a warm and welcoming environment in our home.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our residents, Registered Home Manager, and other colleagues to plan and prepare nutritious and flavoursome menus. You will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all food hygiene and safety regulations, and for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

We are proud to offer a permanent role on a full-time basis of 45 hours per week, working 5 out of 7 days per week, with alternate weekends. As a Strode Park Foundation colleague, you will receive comprehensive support from day one and have access to training and development opportunities to develop your skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure residents' dietary needs are met and provide a balanced and nutritious diet
  • Design and prepare menus for residents, taking into account their individual needs and preferences
  • Liaise with the Registered Home Manager to plan and cost menus, ensuring compliance with all food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Ensure full compliance with all food hygiene and safety regulations

Requirements
  • Experience of food preparation and cooking in a similar environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, colleagues, and management
  • Knowledge of allergens and special dietary requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of food hygiene requirements
