CBT and EMDR Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CBT and EMDR Therapist to join our team at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological assessments and treatments to clients with common mental health problems, including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and develop effective treatment plans for clients with complex mental health needs.
- Deliver evidence-based CBT and EMDR therapies to individuals and groups, ensuring a high level of clinical expertise and adherence to NICE guidelines.
- Provide clinical supervision to junior staff members, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and High Intensity Trainees, to support their professional development and ensure high-quality care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care pathways, ensuring seamless transitions between primary and secondary care services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
- Doctoral-level training in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent experience in CBT and EMDR therapies.
- Post-graduate level training in CBT from an accredited course, recognized by NHS Talking Therapies, and accreditation as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
- Experience of working with a variety of client groups and presenting problems, including complex mental health conditions, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of CBT and EMDR therapies, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
