Position: Stock Control Operative

Company: Associated Seafoods

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 04:30-13:00, with Sunday shifts every four weeks; flexibility is essential.

Our facility in Arbroath is a state-of-the-art processing plant, adhering to the highest food safety standards, where our skilled workforce engages in meticulous hand-processing.

Role Summary:

The primary objective of this position is to oversee and document the quantities, quality, and movement of all raw materials and ingredients across various areas. You will ensure that all stock complies with specifications, is accurately coded, and is stored in designated locations, while managing stock life and optimizing stock usage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receiving and logging raw materials and ingredients using current systems.
  2. Conducting quality inspections of incoming materials and reporting any discrepancies to the Technical team and Department Manager.
  3. Defrosting materials according to the established plan.
  4. Issuing stock to production teams in a controlled manner.
  5. Managing raw material movement and ensuring proper stock rotation.
  6. Counting stock as needed and recording data accurately.
  7. Monitoring refrigeration temperatures to ensure products are maintained at required levels, reporting any faults, and coordinating repairs with the engineering team.
  8. Providing support to Production Operatives as necessary across various processing tasks.

  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and escalate issues as needed.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with NPD sample requests and the ability to fulfill them according to specifications.
  • Knowledge of the decanting process.
  • A commitment to teamwork and alignment with our core values.
  • Awareness of integrity and traceability standards.
  • Understanding of relevant food safety and health & safety regulations.
