About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Climatologist and Science Officer to join our team at Ocean Cooling Technology. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing grant applications and helping us communicate the science behind our Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB) technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct climate research and stay informed about the latest developments in climatology.
  • Collect and analyze data from satellite imagery, weather stations, and climate models to identify weather patterns and extreme weather events.
  • Develop and implement climate models to predict and mitigate the impact of extreme weather events.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists to provide insights into climate-related risks and solutions.
  • Monitor and forecast climate trends and extreme weather events.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or PhD in Climatology, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in climate research, data analysis, or environmental modelling.
  • Proficient in climate modelling software, remote sensing technology, and data analysis tools such as R, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Strong skills in statistical analysis, data visualisation, and interpreting large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
