Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Theatre Practitioner to take on the role of Deputy Clinical Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedic Services within the scrub specialty at Main Theatres, Princess of Wales Hospital. This pivotal position plays a crucial role in our Theatre Management structure, providing support and leadership to the team and driving forward innovative service change in partnership with the Multidisciplinary Team.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and a wide knowledge of Trauma and Elective Orthopaedic services. They will work in collaboration with a fellow Deputy Clinical Lead and dynamic Practitioner team, providing advice, support, and leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual with inspirational leadership skills and an appetite for clinical theatre work, developing staff, and delivering safe and excellent care.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Mentorship/Practice Assessor Training
  • Current UK NMC/HCPC Registration

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of Theatre Procurement/Finance/Budget

Essential experience includes:

  • Significant experience working at Band 5 or above
  • Clinical Trauma and Orthopaedic Scrub Experience

Desirable experience includes:

  • Experience of Managing and Leading a team
