Senior Project Manager - HV Substation Projects

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our HV Substation projects in Scotland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for spearheading the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality management systems across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive strategic oversight of project deliverables, ensuring optimal performance in time, cost, and quality metrics while maintaining rigorous safety standards.
  2. Provide visionary leadership to cross-functional teams spanning design, site operations, and commissioning across a diverse project portfolio.
  3. Establish and cascade critical objectives to project team leads (Procurement, Engineering, Construction, etc.), implementing robust monitoring systems to ensure alignment with overarching project goals.
  4. Direct comprehensive project cost control strategies, optimizing resource allocation and financial performance.
  5. Oversee the development and implementation of sophisticated method statements and risk assessments, ensuring best-in-class operational practices.
  6. Demonstrate fiscal acumen in managing complex budgets and programs, consistently delivering projects within financial and temporal constraints.
  7. Cultivate an organizational culture characterized by transparency, open communication, and continuous improvement, fostering innovation and excellence across teams.

Requirements:

  1. Extensive strategic leadership in managing complex Substation projects up to 400kV.
  2. Advanced certification in Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
  3. Superior interpersonal acumen, with a history of building and maintaining high-level stakeholder relationships.
  4. Full driving license, enabling mobility for critical site visits and key meetings.
  5. Demonstrated success in driving robust financial performance within challenging contracting environments.
  6. Comprehensive understanding and implementation of cutting-edge safety and quality management systems.
  7. Advanced project management credentials such as APM, PRINCE2, or PMI are highly desirable.
