Senior Engineering Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to join our team at a leading Transport Fuel Supplier. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in driving major projects and formulating processes across the projects team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage complex engineering projects within the Oil and Gas Sector, ensuring on-time delivery and within allocated resources.
  2. Develop project plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  3. Oversee and manage the execution of projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, requirements, and standards.
  4. Coordinate activities with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party entities, fostering effective collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  5. Manage and control project costs, continuously monitoring budgets, and implementing corrective measures as required.
  6. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
  7. Utilise effective communication and leadership skills to manage project teams, motivating team members to achieve project milestones.
  8. Adhere to the principles of Construction Design and Management (CDM) to ensure the safe execution of construction projects.
Requirements:
  1. Hold a relevant engineering qualification and project management expertise.
  2. Experience of using project management models such as Prince2 and software such as Microsoft Project required.
  3. Significant project management experience with the ability to manage numerous projects involving stakeholder engagement, budget control, customer outcomes, and specified deliverables.
  4. Experience of managing engineering projects within the transport fuel / Oil distribution/ EV or other high hazard sector.
  5. Experience of multi-project delivery within a high-risk profile organisation would be beneficial.
  6. Experience of HSE management systems and permit to work processes and contractor management.
