Role Overview:
The Secure Waste and Recycling Facility (SWaRF) Manager plays a pivotal role in the oversight, enhancement, and expansion of our operations. This position focuses on identifying and implementing industry-leading practices to ensure exceptional customer service and a secure disposal process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising the secure destruction of client materials, ensuring top-tier service and instilling confidence in our operations.
- Establishing the necessary infrastructure to promptly and effectively meet client demands.
- Pursuing continuous performance improvements for the site and contracts, aligning with client and business EBIT objectives.
- Collaborating with the Regional General Manager to develop long-term strategic plans based on the annual Business Plan while managing daily operations.
- Ensuring compliance with site permit requirements and other legislative obligations.
- Engaging with regulatory bodies and local authorities to maintain compliance and foster positive community relations.
- Identifying and cultivating new business opportunities to enhance stakeholder value while optimizing costs without compromising safety.
The SWaRF Manager will adopt a hands-on approach, utilizing skills in relationship management, negotiation, and personnel management. Adherence to strict processes and regulations is essential, with a strong emphasis on leading by example. The role demands disciplined handling of sensitive materials, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with customer service level agreements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English.
- COTC 4MTSH certification is desirable.
- IOSH / NEBOSH qualifications are advantageous.
- Experience in a transfer station, Material Recovery Facility (MRF), or similar setting.
- Extensive experience in people management and health & safety protocols.
- Proven ability to meet clearly defined service delivery KPIs.
- Experience with Profit and Loss management.
- Familiarity with current and upcoming environmental and health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of the waste industry and relevant legislation.
- Commercial acumen.
- Resilience and ability to manage pressure effectively.
- Experience in building and maintaining client relationships.
