Biffa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SWaRF Site Manager to lead our Secure Waste and Recycling Facility in Tipton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and growing the site to provide exceptional customer service and industry-leading secure disposal solutions.
Main Responsibilities:- Operate the Secure Waste and Recycling Facility within permit and planning controls, ensuring legislative requirements are met and the health and safety of all customers, site staff, and contractors are ensured.
- Oversee the secure destruction of client materials, delivering excellent service and providing a genuine 'Confidence in Biffa' approach.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve site performance, contracts, and EBIT targets.
- Maintain site permit requirements and legislative compliance, ensuring positive working relationships with regulating bodies and local authorities.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to add stakeholder value and drive down costs.
- Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
- COTC 4MTSH (desirable).
- IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable).
- Experience working in a transfer station, MRF, or similar environment.
- Significant people and health and safety management experience.
- Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPIs.
- Profit and Loss experience.
- Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation.
- Waste industry knowledge, including relevant laws.
- Commercial background.
- Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively.
- Experience of building and maintaining customer relationships.
