Job Description

IT Service Desk Manager - IT Support Team Lead

Vallum Associates is seeking an experienced IT Service Desk Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our IT Service Desk. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Desk Performance and Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve service desk performance, including proactive oversight and automation of service desk processes.
  • IT Service Management: Manage and maintain IT service management processes, including incident and request fulfillment, user hardware provisioning, software installs, asset tracking, and license management.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain documentation, including policy ownership, process writing, procedure creation, user training documentation, and IT inductions.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of IT service desk technicians, including team meetings, 1-to-1s, objective and performance management, and rota management.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with IT suppliers, including contract management and vendor performance monitoring.
  • IT Support: Provide IT support to employees, including troubleshooting, hardware and software support, and network administration.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the insurance industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding and experience with Windows 11, Office, Azure Entra, Azure Admin, Teams Admin, Exchange, SharePoint, Citrix, and printing technology.
  • Leadership Skills: Previous management and leadership experience, including team management and performance management.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to produce documentation to a high standard.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
