Our in-store, regional, and home office teams are available to provide full support for both clinical and service-related inquiries.

About You

At Asda, delivering outstanding service is essential for creating memorable customer experiences. Our Optometrists leverage their clinical expertise and enthusiasm to contribute to this mission.

Working alongside an Optical Manager, Optometrists play a crucial role in fostering an environment that merges clinical proficiency with operational excellence. They are instrumental in coaching, training, and developing new patient service initiatives to ensure that customers receive the most current and accessible care.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Hold a valid qualification as an optometrist registered with the GOC
  • Be a registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • Possess MECs or WECs accreditation (or be willing to obtain it within 12 months of joining Asda, with our support)
  • Be on track to fulfill the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Utilize your skills and passion to create a memorable experience for customers
  • Be enthusiastic about developing new patient services and influencing the department's culture

When applying for any Optical positions, it is essential to be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) for the relevant professional role. Additionally, you will need to provide evidence of your Right To Work in the UK.

As part of the compliance process, we will request proof of your inclusion on the NHS performer list for your respective nation or, in Scotland, the Health Board you wish to join, along with two clinical references. If applying in Wales, evidence of your WECS accreditation and WGOS module accreditation will be required.
