Job Summary

Venn Group is seeking a highly skilled Research Finance Officer to join our team on an interim basis. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for the financial management of a portfolio of research projects, working closely with academics and project administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and report on a complex portfolio of grants, ensuring accurate and timely financial information is provided to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Raise supplier invoices and approve high-value financial transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on funder terms and conditions, ensuring that research projects are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Enter project data into research management systems and generate reports, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to stakeholders.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with academic and professional services staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a post-award grant management capacity, with a strong understanding of funder reporting requirements.
  • Experience with funder reporting systems, including UKRI, NIHR, FCDO, Gates, and US Federal.
  • Full Economic Costing (FEC) experience, with a strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis.
  • Proficiency in using Agresso, Unit 4 Business World, or similar financial management systems.
