Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Leader to join our team at EA First. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the procurement function and driving strategic initiatives to achieve business objectives.

About the Role

The Procurement Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. This will involve:

  • Developing and implementing a trust-wide procurement strategy that ensures efficient and cost-effective purchasing activities.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the procurement function, including professional development and guidance.
  • Advising senior leadership on procurement best practices and emerging trends in the education sector.
  • Overseeing all procurement activities, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Managing the procurement budget and tracking savings and efficiencies achieved through procurement activities.
  • Identifying and mitigating procurement risks, ensuring continuity of supply and adherence to quality standards.
  • Developing constructive relationships and communicating with other agencies and professionals.
  • Complying with relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • MCIPS or equivalent qualification (CIPS or QBE will be considered).
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role.
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Previous knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in managing and developing a high-performing team.

We offer a competitive salary of c£67,500 per annum, 31 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
