Regulatory Affairs Manager at Smart DCC

Location: London

Key Responsibilities:

The Regulatory Affairs team is tasked with overseeing interactions with DCC's regulatory partners, including Ofgem, DESNZ, Ofcom, and DSIT, while contributing to the development of DCC's regulatory landscape.

This position encompasses the following essential duties:

  • Facilitate DCC's participation in governance groups related to the Smart Meter Implementation Programme, aiding in decision-making processes that involve planning, risk assessment, and change management.
  • Assist DCC Subject Matter Experts in engaging with regulatory stakeholders to further DCC's strategic objectives and growth plans.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of DCC's regulatory partners and their representatives to effectively influence key areas of interest.
  • Organize and strategize key stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Keep DCC's senior leadership apprised of significant stakeholder matters and emerging trends, including providing briefings for senior-level meetings.

Daily Activities:

  • Oversee interactions with government entities and regulators, influencing regulatory decision-making in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Establish strong working relationships and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure DCC's perspectives are communicated effectively.
  • Implement strategies for information sharing to enhance stakeholder intelligence and ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Monitor and analyze governmental and regulatory priorities for system enhancements and new policy initiatives, providing insights for the Board and Executive Committee regarding potential impacts on DCC.
  • Identify and report significant issues arising from DCC's regulatory engagements, particularly within the Strategy and Regulation department, to relevant senior management.

Candidate Profile:

  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships and collaborating across various organizations.
  • Exceptional facilitation and organizational skills, with experience engaging a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks amidst competing demands.
  • Proven experience in supporting subject matter experts in articulating complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Experience working in multifaceted environments with diverse stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in major government projects is a plus.
