Job Title: IAPT Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join our North Primary Care Network & Havering Talking Therapies team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality care to patients with common mental health problems.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Accept referrals and develop programmes of care packages.
  2. Assess and support individuals with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
  3. Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas for change and recovery, and make accurate assessments of risk to self and others.
  4. Make decisions on referral suitability, adhering to departmental protocols, and refer unsuitable clients to relevant services or back to referral agents as necessary.
  5. Ensure maintenance of standards of practice according to employer and regulating body guidelines, and stay up-to-date on new recommendations and guidelines.

You may be required to travel between 2 or more surgeries.

Person Specification

We are looking for a qualified PWP with experience in working in primary care/IAPT services, who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and committed to ongoing professional development.

Essential qualifications include a PG qualification in Low Intensity CBT and experience in working in mental health services.

Desirable qualifications include knowledge of other treatment platforms in Talking Therapies used at Step 2 and experience of working as an assistant psychologist/therapy assistant.
