About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Catering Assistant to join our team at Anchor Hanover, a leading provider of care and housing for older people. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met and their dining experience is enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality catering service that meets the health, safety, and hygiene requirements of our residents.
  • Comply with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Minimize food wastage and use equipment correctly to optimize efficiency.
  • Escalate any concerns or issues to the Chef Manager or relevant authorities.

Requirements

  • Level 2 food safety certificate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
  • Previous catering experience with knowledge of basic food safety and safe use of knives and kitchen equipment.
  • Experience of working with older people, understanding their needs and preferences.

Desirable Skills

  • Ability to organize time and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work as part of a team and individually, adapting to changing circumstances.
