Supervising Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Supervising Social Worker to join our team at TACT (The Adolescent & Childrens Trust). As a key member of our foster care team, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to our social workers, ensuring the highest standards of care and practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and guidance to social workers to ensure they are meeting the needs of children and young people in our care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care and practice.
  • Work closely with other teams, including our recruitment and training teams, to ensure that our social workers have the skills and knowledge they need to provide excellent care.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new social workers, ensuring that we attract and retain the best talent.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for social workers, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge they need to provide excellent care.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience as a social worker, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including children, young people, and their families.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to work.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies, including the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £31,764 per annum, plus a £750 homeworking allowance and a £1,500 OOH allowance.
  • A 35-hour working week, with flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.
  • A fixed-term contract of 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
