Wastewater Systems Modelling Specialist

This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage with a vibrant team focused on pioneering water management initiatives across various AMP cycles. Our extensive portfolio includes innovative approaches such as wetland systems that significantly reduce carbon footprints and advanced catchment strategies aimed at minimizing stormwater overflows.
As part of our collaborative environment, you will be supported by both local teams and industry specialists within the Stantec community. You will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of 110 professionals from Stantec, spanning 13 UK offices and a team in Pune, working alongside clients and consultant/contractor partners to deliver impactful projects throughout the UK & Ireland. This is a remarkable opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking and innovative group of engineers, focusing on a specialized modelling framework while playing a key role in industry-leading projects.
In our Newcastle office, recent projects have included innovative solutions for surface water management, storm overflow screening, and studies related to bathing water quality.

Candidate Profile
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess a degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a preference for membership in a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIWEM. Successful applicants will showcase technical expertise across a broad spectrum of urban drainage modelling tasks, alongside proficiency in InfoWorks ICM and other pertinent modelling and GIS software.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with proposals and preparing cost estimates within our project frameworks. The role will require participation in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of urban drainage projects, ensuring the highest standards of delivery excellence, technical governance, and adherence to best practices.
Exceptional communication skills are essential, as you will be responsible for report writing, developing and delivering presentations (both internal and external), and establishing industry connections.
The ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into a team, collaborating closely with fellow modelling professionals in an urban drainage context, while maintaining a strong client service orientation.
