Position: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician (Electrical 70 / 30 Mechanical)

DATS Recruitment Ltd is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring the seamless operation of our facility through effective maintenance practices.

Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to uphold the safety and efficiency of plant operations by promptly addressing equipment malfunctions and executing a robust preventive maintenance strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Maintenance Technician, your duties will encompass:

  • Timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Providing comprehensive maintenance services, focusing on electrical systems.

Specific tasks include:

  • Conducting maintenance and repairs on steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and other essential equipment.
  • Performing electrical maintenance on plant machinery as needed.
  • Installing chemical plant equipment, including valves and pressure relief systems, under management of change protocols.
  • Executing testing and calibration to meet Quality Control standards.
  • Handling general building and electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Addressing unplanned breakdowns swiftly and safely.
  • Collaborating with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all necessary items for scheduled maintenance are procured, minimizing downtime while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Reporting incidents to management using established reporting systems.
  • Responding promptly to corrective and preventive action requirements.
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Essential Skills and Experience:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A practical, hands-on approach to maintenance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A commitment to safety and quality standards, including the use of PPE.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility in work approach.
  • Experience in planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Proficiency in fault finding and electrical infrastructure systems (single and three-phase).

Desirable Skills:
Experience in an ATEX chemical/process industry is advantageous, as is knowledge of chemical processes and instrumentation.

Qualifications:
Essential qualifications include:

  • Electrical Qualification.
  • Completion of an Apprenticeship.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.

Desirable qualifications may include:

  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382).
  • Test and Inspect 2391.
  • CompEx Certification (EX01-04).

Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM - 4:30 PM (40-hour contract).

Salary:
Annual Salary = £45,567.60. Additional overtime hours are compensated at the overtime rate.
