About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team at AMETEK, Inc. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to drive down commodity costs through centralized purchasing activity, leveraging spend across our three sites and the wider Ametek group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and progress open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Follow up on stock outages and review part number demand to adjust min/max levels as required.
  • Foster and maintain excellent supplier relationships, capturing important information regarding quality/delivery issues for the assessment of supplier KPI performance.
  • Source spare parts on the open inventory market, including possible next higher assemblies for parts teardown, ensuring stock is available for use as and when required.
  • Act on internal purchase requisition requests and procure "non-stock" commercial products from suppliers, utilizing the Ametek Ivalua E-procurement system to channel spend through group-wide suppliers.
  • Assist in the resolution of any delivery/quality/invoice issues and arrange supplier product returns according to AEM returns policy.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to cost spares, tooling, and consumables for engineering projects.
  • Attend daily Tier meetings to provide accurate and timely product information to support the Business Units.

Requirements

  • Experience of purchasing technical products and services to support engineering operations.
  • Experience in MRP purchasing and stock management systems.
  • Procurement experience within an engineering/manufacturing/technical background, fostering and managing supplier relationships.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to manipulate large amounts of data to produce reports and analytical results.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawing and product specifications.
