Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at the Queens Gate Hotel, a boutique hotel in South Kensington. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the production of high-quality food for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of food for the hotel's guests and Bistro.
  • Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Assist with stock takes and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and food safety standards.
  • Assist with the development of new menu items and maintain a professional and helpful attitude in the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel or Bistro/Brasserie environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of Southwestern European cuisine (Italian, Spanish, or French) and British cuisine.
