Job Title: PR Account Executive

We are seeking a highly skilled PR Account Executive to join our team at Royal Caribbean Group. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for executing strategies to secure impactful media coverage for our organization, subject matter experts, products, and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute media relations strategies to secure media coverage in top-tier outlets.
  • Build and maintain key professional relationships with significant media outlets and key journalists.
  • Support in directing the activities of external agencies and internal teams as needed.
  • Oversee significant communications programs, including promotions, press trips, press conferences, and executive briefings.
  • Handle incoming media inquiries and responses.
  • Create innovative approaches to generating coverage in the media, draft press releases, talking points, and statements.
  • Track press coverage and write coverage reports analyzing the output and success of media relations efforts.
  • Plan and implement group and individual press trips and liaise with appropriate personnel on requests.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry developments, trends, and shifts in the travel industry.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent, directly related experience required.
  • 5-7 years of PR agency, public relations, journalism, or corporate communications experience.
  • Experience with media relations and strong skills in pitching and comfortable reaching out to top-tier media.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as appropriate (domestic & international).
  • Strong ability to interact with senior leaders and build effective relationships within the company, public, guests, and media.
  • Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize communication strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support media and business needs.
  • Excellent research, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Goal-oriented and action-focused, practical, and self-disciplined.
  • Ability to assist in coordinating projects or participate in cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of social media, influencers, and emerging media.
  • Strong project management, planning, evaluation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner.
