Receptionist - Healthcare Facility

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and approachable Ward Clerk to join our Central Delivery Suite team. This role offers a flexible working schedule, with up to 33 hours available. As an integral part of our healthcare team, you will provide essential administrative, clerical, and reception support to both staff and service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication: Engage with patients, clinical personnel, general practitioners, and Trust support staff through various channels including in-person interactions, phone calls, and emails as necessary.
  • Exhibit a compassionate and professional demeanor towards patients and visitors while performing all responsibilities.
  • Address patient inquiries, capacity issues, and general concerns by escalating them to the appropriate line manager or clinical staff.

Patient Care:

  • Welcome and assist patients, their families, and visitors upon their arrival to the ward, ensuring they are informed and supported. This may involve demonstrating resilience when interacting with distressed individuals.

Organizational Duties:

  • Maintain accurate filing of clinical results and information in patient records, ensuring compliance with Trust standards.
  • Facilitate the proper transfer and tracking of patient records into and out of the ward.
  • Prepare patient documentation for coding within specified deadlines.
  • Perform additional clerical tasks such as managing filing systems, photocopying, distributing mail, managing diaries, and scanning patient notes as required.
  • Be prepared to fulfill the role's responsibilities during major incidents within the department.
