About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safeguarding Children Nurse Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust Royal London Hospital.

As a Safeguarding Children Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting staff to implement policies and procedures to safeguard children and providing training.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social workers, and external agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our care.

The post holder will provide safeguarding children advice and support, safeguarding children supervision and training to practitioners.

The role also includes providing advice and support in relation to children in need, including children with disabilities and those children identified as vulnerable in any way.

The post holder will improve and facilitate robust communication pathways between hospital staff and professionals across the safeguarding partnership in the community, primary care and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children in meeting requirements set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children
  • Provide safeguarding children advice and support, safeguarding children supervision and training to practitioners
  • Provide advice and support in relation to children in need, including children with disabilities and those children identified as vulnerable in any way
  • Improve and facilitate robust communication pathways between hospital staff and professionals across the safeguarding partnership in the community, primary care and other agencies
