About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safeguarding Children Nurse Specialist to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust Royal London Hospital.

As a Safeguarding Children Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting staff to implement policies and procedures to safeguard children and providing training.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, social workers, and external agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children in meeting requirements set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023)
  • Provide safeguarding children advice and support, safeguarding children supervision and training to practitioners
  • Improve and facilitate robust communication pathways between hospital staff and professionals across the safeguarding partnership in the community, primary care and other agencies
  • Work with the Named Nurse for safeguarding children to undertake audits and support the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures in relation to safeguarding children

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Registered Nurse/Registered Sick Children's Nurse//SCPHN (Health Visiting) or equivalent
  • Evidence of involvement in child protection practice
  • Evidence of inter-agency/multiprofessional working
  • Experience of being involved in clinical audit and evaluation
  • Experience of facilitating and supporting change in practice
  • Experience of receiving safeguarding children supervision
  • Experience of providing safeguarding children supervision
