KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist foster families in achieving outstanding outcomes for children and young people in care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the ongoing suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Ensure foster carers understand their responsibilities and the standards expected of them.
  • Provide regular supervision to assigned foster parents in accordance with operational standards.
  • Collaborate with all members of the child's support network to identify and address needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all essential documentation for children and foster parents.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports to commissioning teams regarding care packages.
  • Encourage participation of children and young people in agency development and community resources.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support service on a rotational basis.
  • Engage in day duty systems to support referral teams.
  • Conduct initial home visits and Form F assessments as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Professional registration with Social Work Wales or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding protocols.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
  • Valid driving license.
