KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist foster families in achieving exceptional outcomes for all children and young people in their care.
  • Monitor and support the ongoing suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Ensure foster carers are well-informed about their responsibilities and the standards expected of them, including procedures for complaints and representation.
  • Provide regular supervision to assigned foster parents in accordance with FCA's operational standards.
  • Collaborate with the child's network to identify needs within the foster family, including activities and support.
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary documentation for each child and foster parent.
  • Attend meetings and prepare reports for commissioning teams regarding individual care packages.
  • Encourage the participation of children and young people in the agency's development and in accessing local resources.
  • Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rotational basis.
  • Engage in day duty systems to support referral teams.
  • Conduct initial home visits and Form F assessments as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Professional registration with Social Work Wales or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding protocols.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
  • A valid driving license.
