KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist foster families in achieving exceptional outcomes for all children and young people in their care.
- Monitor and support the ongoing suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Ensure foster carers are well-informed about their responsibilities and the standards expected of them, including procedures for complaints and representation.
- Provide regular supervision to assigned foster parents in accordance with FCA's operational standards.
- Collaborate with the child's network to identify needs within the foster family, including activities and support.
- Ensure compliance with all necessary documentation for each child and foster parent.
- Attend meetings and prepare reports for commissioning teams regarding individual care packages.
- Encourage the participation of children and young people in the agency's development and in accessing local resources.
- Participate in an 'out of hours' support service on a rotational basis.
- Engage in day duty systems to support referral teams.
- Conduct initial home visits and Form F assessments as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A recognized Social Work qualification.
- Professional registration with Social Work Wales or equivalent.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality reports.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding protocols.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional overnight stays.
- Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
- A valid driving license.
