We are currently seeking an Employee Relations Consultant to support our People Leader Advisory team on a fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in guiding People Leaders on various personnel matters, including management practices, policy guidance, performance evaluation, development strategies, talent management, and employee relations support.
In this dynamic position, you will enhance the overall Leader Advisory Service (Tier 2) by empowering People Leaders to effectively manage their responsibilities through expert coaching, guidance, and comprehensive advice on a wide array of generalist people activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation, implementation, and governance of people policies, evaluating their effectiveness and proactively addressing issues as they arise.
- Provide specialized advisory support to people leaders regarding case management across all organizational levels.
- Leverage your expertise in employee relations to offer advice, coaching, and skill development for all involved parties to enhance their capabilities in managing cases.
- Serve as an escalation point for People Leader Advisors and People Services Coordinators on:
- Performance and Reward inquiries (compensation, benefits, benchmarking, recognition, annual reviews) in collaboration with the People Partner and/or Centre of Excellence.
- Talent and Capability inquiries (Career Management, Talent and Succession Planning, Learning and Development, Diversity & Inclusion, Well-Being, and Engagement) in collaboration with the People Partner and/or Centre of Excellence.
- Advocate for the People Team operating model.
Candidate Profile
- Strong technical knowledge of employment legislation and people policies.
- Proven expertise in employee relations case management.
- Effective consultancy skills with the ability to provide sound advice, guidance, and support across a diverse range of generalist areas to achieve fair and commercially viable outcomes.
- Ability to identify and assess a wide range of risks.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
