Job Title: Chief Counsel

City, University of London seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief Counsel to join its Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice to the University President and executive colleagues, as well as overseeing the development of in-house legal services and external legal resources.

About the Role

The Chief Counsel will be a key member of the University's Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other executive colleagues to drive the University's strategic objectives. The role will involve:

  • Providing high-quality legal advice to the University President and executive colleagues on a range of matters, including governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Overseeing the development of in-house legal services, including the recruitment and management of legal staff.
  • Working with external legal resources to ensure that the University receives high-quality legal advice and support.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the University's governance and risk management practices are robust and effective.
