Job Title: Children & Young People Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Children & Young People Officer to join our team at Hays Social Care. As a key member of our Youth Justice Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children and young people receive the support and guidance they need to prevent offending and re-offending.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with young people, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure a needs-led service.
  • Conduct regular assessments and reports on young people and their families for court, panels, and professional meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to Youth Justice Board policies and practices, including performance indicators and national standards.
  • Manage complex cases that pose significant risk to the community, including young people involved in harmful sexual behavior, gangs, and serious youth violence.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage with young people and their families in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
