Electrical Instrumentation Project Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Instrumentation Project Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical and instrumentation projects across both Edinburgh and Annan sites, ensuring compliance with site engineering standards and budget control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as technical lead for all electrical and instrumentation projects, ensuring designs and installations meet site standards.
- Manage contract engineers and EPC contractors to ensure compliance with site standards and budget control.
- Ensure all projects are suitably scoped regarding electrical and instrumentation activity.
- Liaise with maintenance and compliance teams to ensure proposals are aligned to site requirements.
- Responsible for budget control and reporting for all projects under direction.
- Manage functional safety compliance on projects, ensuring ongoing conformance to IEC 61508/61511 requirements.
- Ensure new electrical and instrumentation equipment is assessed for safety, health, environmental, and quality impact.
- Provide technical input into site standards to ensure they remain up to date and aligned with current best practice.
- Effectively plan resources for all electrical and instrumentation activity on projects.
- Ensure IS calculations and loop drawings are updated for all projects.
- Provide hands-on support during project handover.
- Support training of operational teams for new installations.
- Ensure qualification/quality obligations are met for all project activity.
- Provide technical guidance to all departments, including root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and fault finding of electrical and instrumentation issues.
- Provide ad-hoc technical support to maintenance and compliance teams for ongoing operational issues.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical and instrumentation engineering, with experience in project management and budget control. They will also have excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to work effectively with external and internal contractors.
