Job Title: Depute Head of Finance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Depute Head of Finance to join our team at East Ayrshire Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to the Council, ensuring the effective management of financial resources and the delivery of excellent financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Depute Chief Financial Officer in terms of Section 95 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, responsible to the Council for proper administration of its financial affairs.
  • Deputise for the Accountable Officer for the Ayrshire Growth where necessary.
  • Promote and deliver excellent financial management, safeguarding public money and using it appropriately, economically, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Assist with the promotion, delivery, and integration of key objectives in relation to those identified within the Corporate Service Support Plan and the Community Plan.

Requirements:

  • Follow national guidance in relation to pre-employment checks, namely "Safer Recruitment Through Better Recruitment".
  • Provide details of a minimum of two appropriate and relevant references, one of which should be from your current or most recent employer.
