Job Title: Depute Head of Finance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Depute Head of Finance to join our team at East Ayrshire Council. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of our financial affairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Depute Chief Financial Officer in terms of Section 95 of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, responsible to the Council for proper administration of its financial affairs.
  • Deputise for the Accountable Officer for the Ayrshire Growth where necessary.
  • Promote and deliver excellent financial management to safeguard public money and ensure its appropriate use, economically, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Assist in the promotion, delivery, and integration of key objectives related to the Corporate Service Support Plan and the Community Plan.
