Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Repair Technician to join our team at Steer Automotive Group. As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical and body work on assigned jobs, including vehicle dismantling, inspections, and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Repair and Maintenance: Carry out all necessary mechanical and body work on assigned jobs, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Vehicle Dismantling and Inspection: Dismantle vehicles to prepare them for the panel shop and conduct thorough inspections to identify faults and diagnose issues.
  • Parts Management and Reassembly: Order replacement parts and ensure their timely arrival, and reassemble vehicles with new parts to restore them to pre-accident condition.
  • Workload Planning and Teamwork: Effectively plan your workload to meet agreed timescales and work collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: Significant experience as an MET Technician, preferably from an accident repair background.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and the ability to work skilfully and safely under pressure.
  • Workload Planning and Time Management: Effective workload planning and time management to meet agreed timescales.
  • Specifications Adherence and Quality Control: Ability to work in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and maintain high standards of quality control.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: A team player with the initiative to work independently with minimal supervision and flexibility in approach.
  • Health and Safety: Adherence to Health and Safety guidelines, including wearing provided PPE and maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
