Job Title: Transport Engineering Technician

We are seeking a skilled Transport Engineering Technician to join our team at Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance work on our transport engineering vehicle asset base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned preventative/reactive/corrective maintenance, mindful of asset performance and operational requirements.
  • Undertake tasks requiring in-depth technical competence in electrical/mechanical/hydraulic system engineering related to vehicles and equipment.
  • Use GAL I.T. – Work Management Systems (e.g., Ultimo) as required. Receive & close work orders, enter data accurately and use system data to drive individual and asset performance.
  • Ensure all engineering and operational records are updated to meet business, regulatory, and manufacturer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Advanced modern apprenticeship (Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair) or equivalent (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3) or equivalent.
  • Technical experience in a vehicle maintenance environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Adequate IT skills including Microsoft Office and CMMS.
  • PSV / HGV Licence (Desirable).
