Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist

Cherry Professional is seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join a market-leading Civil Engineering company based in Nottinghamshire. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical support in ensuring the safe delivery of projects, adhering to current legislation and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct SHEQ site inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Support site teams in preparing and reviewing paperwork, including Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and COSHH Assessments.
- Develop and review pre-start SHEQ plans and site files to ensure compliance.
- Assist with the administration of Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, and ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001).
- Investigate incidents and analyze accident trends to inform improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with external bodies, including the Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Agency, and clients, as directed by the HSEQT Manager.
- Support the SHEQ Manager in driving continuous improvement in Health, Safety, and Environmental performance.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety, health, environment, and quality metrics.
- Experience in utilities and/or construction.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements and best practices in safety, health, environment, and quality.
- Experience with audits, inspections, and recommending preventative action.
- CDM Regulations expertise.
- Ability to influence and drive change.
- NVQ Level 4 Qualification or equivalent in Health and Safety.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable).
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001.
- Full driving license with access to a vehicle.
