Job Description

**Job Title:** Mechanical Shift Engineer - Continental Shift

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our team at CBW Staffing Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment in a critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain mechanical plant, including pumps, motors, seals, and bearings.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on air conditioning systems, including air handling units and fan coil units.
  • Conduct water treatment checks and ensure proper dosing.
  • Carry out plumbing repairs, including unblocking toilets and replacing taps and washers.
  • Monitor BMS systems and perform basic electrical duties, such as lamp changes.
  • Perform general building fabric repairs and maintenance.
  • Escort specialist subcontractors and perform visual checks on UPS systems.
  • Conduct regular checks on diesel generators and steam generators.
  • Ensure that contractual requirements are met and all relevant KPIs and SLAs are achieved.
  • Perform tasks in a timely and professional manner and identify and report faults with building services equipment.
  • Ensure all H&S issues are reported and escalated as required.
  • Maintain informal communications with client staff members and report service-affecting issues to site management.

Requirements:

  • Mechanically qualified level 2 (C&G, NVQ, etc.) minimum.
  • Experience working in a critical environment.
  • Ability to provide copies of trade certificates.
  • Proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
  • Multi-skilled with good communication and customer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and attend site for 07:00 am start.
