We are seeking a highly skilled EHV Cable Project Engineer to join our HVDC Project Engineering team at SSE Transmission. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence, quality of installation, and best practice in our EHV cable projects.
Key Responsibilities- Support project Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities, including options assessment, cable route development, landfall selection, and risk assessment.
- As a key member of the Designer and Principal Designer teams, promote the safety-in-design ethos and discharge CDM duties on behalf of SSE Transmission.
- Review and acceptance of Contractor engineering and design deliverables for compliance with Employer's requirements, legislation, and safe practice.
- Supervise installation and commissioning works for compliance with Employer's requirements and legislation.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, ensuring they are adequately supported throughout their traineeship.
- Inform the HVDC cable system requirements for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contracts and support the tender review process as part of the technical team.
- Coordinate and support the installation and commissioning works for compliance with the Employer's requirements, legislation, and promote health and safety.
- Technical leadership, mentorship, and driving excellence within the HVDC Project Engineering team.
- Lead special analytical studies and solve complex and ambiguous problems.
