Job Summary

Catholic Medical Center seeks a skilled Emergency Care Technician to join our team. As an integral member of the unit-based care delivery team, you will perform a variety of technical components essential to the ongoing delivery of quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administer skin prep and apply cardiac monitors as needed.
  2. Change batteries on telemetry units, stock electrodes, and clean monitoring equipment.
  3. Obtain strips of rhythm changes during Code Blue situations.
  4. Notify nurses of inactive alarms and collaborate with them to adjust alarm settings to patient rates when required.
  5. Perform 12-lead Electrocardiograms (EKGs) within ten minutes of receiving notification.
  6. Collaborate with department coordinators to facilitate accurate laboratory order entry, processing, and charging.
  7. Assist physicians in positioning patients for procedures such as splinting and lumbar punctures.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current registration in the State of New Hampshire as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) and/or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT/AEMT certification.
  • BLS certification is required. If not certified, obtain American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification prior to completion of orientation.
