About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Receptionist to join our team at Woodlands Medical Practice. As a key member of our administration team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our doctors and nurses.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Greet and deal with all patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner, ensuring a smooth flow of patients through the surgery.
  2. Make appointments for doctors, nurses, and clinics, and ensure that new patients are added to the EMIS system before clinic start times.
  3. Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner, taking accurate messages and entering them onto the electronic medical records.
  4. Reschedule clinics and inform patients, chase appointments and results as requested by doctors, and book appointments for patients.
  5. Take calls for the triage service, file paper correspondence, and check EMIS workflow for action on results and tasks.
  6. Monitor the waiting areas to ensure patients are sent to their appointments in order and are not kept waiting too long.
  7. Process GMS1 forms onto the computer, update patient records, and ensure that new patient starter packs are kept up to date.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with good communication and customer service skills, and experience of working in a GP practice is desirable. Basic IT skills are also essential.
