Finance Director

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager to lead our Rates team in delivering exceptional services with a continuous improvement mindset.
As a key member of our Finance function, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance and developing rates strategy and processes. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and engage with external customers, including the MOD.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Rates team in delivering first-class rates services, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support the review of Rates Operating Models across the UK Enterprise, understanding and communicating business and customer impacts.
- Coordinate the submission of actual rates to customers and regulators, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance and regulations.
- Collaborate with FP&A to assess rates changes and develop strategic recommendations.
- Support Commercial Leads in discussions with customers on rates agreements and cost allowability.
- Manage stakeholder relationships with internal and external customer and regulator representatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Coordinate rates inputs into the IBP process, overseeing dependencies, timetable adherence, and ensuring robust processes and controls are in place.
- Aid the development of future rates strategy and deliver Rates and Statutory Guidance Awareness Training to the wider function.
- Lead and manage a team of five direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
- Proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
- Solid cost base management and financial modelling expertise, with proven experience in project financial management.
- Experience working on Defence contracts or similar industries, with an understanding of complex regulatory and contractual environments.
