An exciting opportunity has arisen at our facility, known for producing high-performance calcium aluminate binders, recognized for their exceptional resistance to heat, corrosion, and abrasion. Our site serves various industries, including construction, wastewater management, metallurgy, and mining.

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee, maintain, and enhance electrical and automation systems within our industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Site Electrical Duty Holder.
  • Manage and execute tasks related to electrical, automation, and instrumentation work, including inspections, audits, calibrations, spare parts management, and maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain Siemens automation systems (PLCs/ PCS7/ SCADA/ WinCC/ S7-300/ HMIs), including troubleshooting, programming, and updates.
  • Ensure compliance with ECI standards and statutory requirements (e.g., fixed wire testing, high voltage maintenance, earthing tests).
  • Oversee high voltage networks and drives.
  • Manage ECI projects, including design, documentation, contract management, installation, commissioning, and training.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring all ECI activities comply with company policies.
  • Participate in the training and development of junior engineers.
  • Provide technical support during equipment failures outside regular hours.

This role may involve working at heights and in confined spaces.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, with proven diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.

Essential qualifications include:

  • A degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or Automation Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role within a heavy production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Siemens systems (PCS7), SCADA systems (WinCC), and communication networks (e.g., Profibus, Profinet).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process systems.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Trimble software.
  • Health and Safety NEBOSH or IOSH certification.
  • Willingness to respond to after-hours emergencies.
  • Valid UK driving license.
