About the Role:

The Deputy Head (Pastoral) will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at Phoenix, responsible for leading the provision of pastoral care throughout the school. This includes ensuring the emotional, physical, and intellectual wellbeing of the whole student body.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a coherent and innovative whole-school pastoral curriculum.
  • Shape and develop a strategic approach to pastoral care, ensuring the needs of all students are met.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Oversee the provision of pastoral support services, including counseling, mentoring, and student welfare.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and partners to enhance student wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in school leadership, with a focus on student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire confidence in students, parents, and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral care initiatives.
  • Commitment to the school's ethos, aims, and strategic direction.
